Der Ferrari 250 GT SWB Competizione Nr. 16 trat 1961 bei den 24 Stunden von Le Mans für die Scuderia Serenissima an. Am Steuer saßen Maurice Trintignant und Carlo Mario Abate; der Wagen mit Chassis 2733GT absolvierte 162 Runden und schied wegen eines Differenzialschadens aus. Der 3,0-Liter-V12 mit rund 280–290 PS und etwa 1.018 kg Gewicht war speziell für den GT-Rennsport ausgelegt.
